Creative Guildの仲間たちが生み出した商品やサービスと、その背景にある想いを届けていくギルド・マーケット。今回は、北九州のパートナー 一般社団法人まちはチームだの岡 秀樹さん（Guild名鑑No.100）たちが手がける「DISCOVERY coworking」をご紹介します。「未来の準備をする」を旗印に、北九州・小倉駅直結という場所から、次世代のビジネス創出と地域共創を支える拠点です。

DISCOVERY coworkingは、小倉駅構内にある駅ナカ型のコワーキングスペース。JR西日本、NTTドコモ、北九州市、そして岡さんが代表を務める株式会社HOAの4者協業によって生まれました。単なる作業場ではなく、テクノロジー、コミュニティ、ビジネスが交差し、新しい働き方や挑戦が生まれる場として展開されています。

秘密基地が人と人をつなぐ原点だったとすれば、DISCOVERY coworkingは、そこから一歩進んだ“地域とテクノロジーの未来をつなぐ戦略拠点”。人、地域、事業、テクノロジーを結び直し、北九州から新しい可能性をひらいていく取り組みの一つと言えます。

A Place to Prepare for the Future
DISCOVERY coworking and the Next Generation of Work in Kitakyushu

After gathering, mixing, connecting, and sharpening ideas — it is time to prepare for the future.

Guild Market is a Creative Guild initiative that introduces products, services, and the passions behind the people creating them. This time, we’d like to introduce DISCOVERY coworking, developed by Hideki Oka (Guild Directory No.100)  and the team behind the Kitakyushu-based initiative “Machi wa Team da.”. With the concept of “Preparing for the Future,” DISCOVERY coworking supports next-generation business creation and regional co-creation from its location directly connected to Kokura Station in Kitakyushu.

DISCOVERY coworking is a station-based coworking space located inside Kokura Station. It was created through a collaboration between JR West, NTT DOCOMO, Kitakyushu City, and HOA Inc., led by Oka-san. More than just a place to work, it is a space where technology, community, and business intersect — giving rise to new ways of working and new challenges.

Equipped with a 5G environment, the space supports online meetings, livestreaming, and proof-of-concept projects in next-generation fields such as XR, the metaverse, and AI. Corporate registration is also available, making it useful not only as a workspace during business trips, but also as a reliable base for companies and entrepreneurs who want a foothold in Kitakyushu. It is also an important base for Machi wa Team da. New initiatives, including projects related to Kokura Castle, continue to move forward from this location.

Behind DISCOVERY coworking is Coworking Space Himitsukichi, which Oka-san and his team have operated since 2014. Built around the concept of “Gather, mix, connect, and sharpen,” Himitsukichi has served as a grassroots co-creation hub where freelancers, entrepreneurs, and local practitioners come together, learn from one another, and create new projects.

If Himitsukichi was the origin point for connecting people, DISCOVERY coworking is the next step: a strategic base connecting the future of local communities and technology. It reconnects people, regions, businesses, and technology, opening new possibilities from Kitakyushu.

Local cities hold enormous potential when technology and community come together.
