- 開催方法:Zoom(接続先は申込者へご案内します)

Yohaku-san Is Here, Want to Join? | Kannazuki
How do people connect with one another?
Someone you have met only once, yet somehow want to talk to again. Someone you see often but do not really know. Do we connect because we share a purpose, because we do something together, or simply because we spend time in the same place? This time, we will begin with a familiar question that has a little more depth than it first appears.
Creative Guild’s Commu-Lab brings together people who nurture communities to share challenges and ideas from their own practice and explore how communities are created and grow in a relaxed way. As one of its activities, we hold a monthly Open Day called “Yohaku-san Is Here, Want to Join?” It brings in the spirit of the book Yohaku-san, Iru?: not rushing to find answers, and trying to talk about things even before our thoughts are fully formed.
At our first Open Day in September, we began with the question, “How do we build a community?” That conversation brought another question into view, one that comes just before thinking about communities: “How do people begin to connect with one another in the first place?”
So, in October, we will gently explore how those connections begin, drawing on everyone’s experiences. Why not join us over lunch for just 30 minutes to talk about something that happened recently or something you have been wondering about?
Event details
- Date and time: Monday, October 26, 2026, 12:15–12:45 p.m. JST
- Format: Zoom; access details will be sent to registered participants
- Fee: Free
- Group size: Around 10 people
- Organizer: Creative Guild / Commu-Lab
In October, let’s talk about connecting
“Yohaku-san Is Here, Want to Join?” is not a seminar, a study session, or a consultation. We begin with “How have you been lately?” If something in someone’s story catches our attention, we ask a little more. If there is nothing you particularly want to say, simply listening is welcome too.
If you would like, bring just one example of a person or experience that recently gave you a small sense of connection. Perhaps it was easy to talk with someone you had just met. Perhaps someone you had not heard from in a while got in touch, you met someone you had only known through social media, or you got to know someone just by spending time in the same place. We will use these small experiences to explore what connecting means.
How this space works
At 12:45, we stop, even if we are in the middle of a conversation. We can pick it up again next week. We do not make a formal summary each time.
Conversation starters for Kannazuki
Our theme is “How do people connect with one another?” Here are a few questions we might explore together.
- What is different about people who are somehow easy to talk to, even when we have just met them?
- Why do some relationships continue after we have met someone once?
- Why can trying too hard to connect with others end up making us tired?
Of course, we do not need to discuss everything. We will start with the group’s “How have you been lately?” and follow whichever stories catch our attention.
Who this is for
- People who would like to think a little about their connections with other people and communities.
- People who run a community or would like to start one.
- People whose activities connect people and places across companies or local communities.
- People who are a little curious about the world of Yohaku-san, Iru?.
It is fine if this is your first encounter with Commu-Lab or you have not read the book. Come along as yourself, rather than as a representative of your company or organization.
Schedule
- Around 12:15: We check in with “How have you been lately?” We may also ask about a recent moment when you felt a little connection.
- Around 12:20: We pick up stories that interest us and talk together. Speaking is optional.
- 12:45: We finish on time, even if the conversation is unfinished.
After your first visit, come whenever you like
Joining just this once is fine. If the space feels like a good fit, we will introduce Commu-Lab’s Google Group after the session. After that, drop in on whichever Mondays you feel like joining. There is no membership requirement and no expectation that you attend every week.
To help everyone feel comfortable talking
- You may speak, or simply listen.
- Personal stories heard here will not be shared outside the space.
- Please do not join for sales or solicitation.
If this is your first visit, please briefly tell us your name and what you do when registering.
About reports
Personal stories shared in this space will not be shared externally. For Open Days only, we will introduce the atmosphere and some of the questions that came up in a brief event report, without identifying individuals. We do not produce reports for regular sessions.
