港区を起点にいろんなところで働く・暮らす、楽しい時間を創りたい人たちによるコミュニティCreative Guild。このギルド名鑑ではそんなCreative Guildでつながったユニークな方々をご紹介しています。今回ご紹介するのは、マントラ・メディアを展開するジョニー・ポーリックさん。国境や文化の壁を越え、内省と他者への尊重を起点に“ホンモノ”の価値を世界へと届け、未来の可能性の探求をナビゲートしています。

イギリス出身で、現在もロンドンを拠点にグローバルに活躍するジョニー・ポーリックさん。ブランド・マーケティング・戦略領域で20年以上にわたり国際的なキャリアを築いてきました。欧州議会や各国政府、東京都などのプロジェクトにも参画し、企業や組織の意思決定と成長を支援。2015年にはマントラ・メディアを設立し、倫理や持続可能性の視点から企業や社会に向き合う活動を展開しています。さらに、日本の伝統や文化を世界に届けるアトリエジャパンを立ち上げるなど、日本と世界をつなぐ実践を続けています。

そんなジョニーさんが大事にしている価値観を一言で表すと「ホンモノ」。それは表層的な目に見える価値だけでなく、ものごとの根源に込められた精神性も含めた在り方を意味しています。だからこそ、そのための探求のプロセス、つまり自分自身への内省と、他者を尊重した丁寧なコミュニケーションを重視しています。その相互作用の中から立ち上がる可能性を前向きに、そしてオープンに共有していく姿勢が、多くの“ひと”を惹きつけています。

今、グローバル経済はこれまでに私たちが経験したことのない速さで拡大し続けています。同時に、戦争や紛争、気候変動といった深刻な問題も世界各地で起きており、異なる価値観がすれ違うことで生まれる“ひと”と“ひと”の反応的な対立が、社会をより複雑なものにしています。本来であれば手を取り合うことで解決できるはずの課題も少なくありません。それにもかかわらず分断が深まっているのは、私たちが本当に必要なコミュニケーションを十分に取りきれていないという事実を示しているのかもしれません。

私たちは、改めて自身のあり方を深く見つめ直すことが、いま求められているのではないでしょうか。なぜ私たちはいま・ここにいるのか、なぜこの関係性があるのか。本当に必要な未来とはどのようなものなのか。そのために何が必要で、どこから動き出せばいいのか。今を否定するのではなく、ありのままを受け入れ、囚われを手放し、一歩を踏み出す。そうした探求の先に見えてくる“ホンモノ”の価値で、世界をつなぎ直していく。それは非常に地道なプロセスですが、確実に未来の扉を開いていきます。ジョニーさんが実践するように。ぜひその姿に学びながら、私たち一人ひとりも“ホンモノ”を探求し続けていきたいですね。

This time, we feature Johnny Pawlik, founder of Mantra Media. Crossing borders and cultures, he connects people through deep reflection and respect for others, delivering authentic value to the world while navigating new possibilities for the future.

Originally from the UK and now based in London, Johnny has built an international career spanning over 20 years in branding, marketing, and strategy. He has worked on projects with the European Parliament, national governments, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, supporting decision-making and growth for organizations across sectors. In 2015, he founded Mantra Media, where he helps businesses and institutions through an ethical and sustainability-driven approach. He also launched Atelier Japan, bringing traditional Japanese culture and craftsmanship to global audiences—continuing to bridge Japan and the world through meaningful, real-world initiatives.

At the core of Johnny’s philosophy is a single word: authenticity. To him, authenticity goes beyond surface-level, visible value. It includes the deeper essence and spirit embedded within people, cultures, and ideas. That is why he places great importance on the process of exploration itself—starting with introspection, and extending into thoughtful, respectful communication with others. Through this dynamic interplay, new possibilities emerge. His open and forward-looking approach to sharing these possibilities continues to attract people from all walks of life.

Today, the global economy is expanding at a pace we have never experienced before. At the same time, we are facing serious challenges—wars, conflicts, and climate change—while differences in values continue to create reactive divisions between people.

Many of these issues could be addressed through collaboration, yet division persists. This may point to a fundamental truth: we are not yet engaging in the kind of communication that is truly needed.

Perhaps what is required of us now is to take a step back and deeply reflect on who we are. Why are we here, now? Why do these relationships exist? What kind of future do we truly need—and what must we do to move toward it? Rather than rejecting the present, we must accept it as it is, release our attachments, and take the next step forward. Through this ongoing exploration, we begin to rediscover authentic value—and reconnect the world through it. It is a gradual and often quiet process, but one that steadily opens the door to the future. As Johnny continues to demonstrate, perhaps each of us can also begin to explore what it means to live—and connect—authentically.
