“たった一畳のステージ”から始まった新しい未来！

2025年11月24日、増上寺 光摂殿 大広間にて、Z世代アーティストによる舞台芸術プロジェクト「ONE STAGE」の初公演『ONE STAGE CONCERT』が開催されました。Creative Guildは協賛団体として本企画に関わり、「たった一畳のステージから世界をどこまで広げられるか」という挑戦を、会場の皆さまと共に体験しました。公演は昼夜2回とも満席。歴史ある寺院を舞台に、音楽・美術・伝統芸能・建築・空間デザインが交差し、多彩な表現が一畳に凝縮される光景は、このプロジェクトが持つ可能性を鮮やかに示していました。

主宰を務めた日本舞踊家・有馬和歌子さんにとって、ONE STAGEは高校生の頃から10年温め続けてきた構想です。「わからないことが多いなら、やらないほうが賢明なのかもしれない」──そんな迷いや葛藤を抱えながらも、何度もアイデアが蘇り、その度に前へ進む力が湧き上がったといいます。その長い時間の積み重ねが今回のメンバーとの必然的な出会いにつながり、「この人と作品をつくりたい」と心から思える仲間たちが快諾してくれたことで、初公演が実現したと語っていました。

当日のステージは、まさに“一畳の限界突破”の連続でした。坂東寛二郎氏による祝祭的な「三番叟」から幕が開き、続いて建築家・原良輔さんによる光の立体トラスを観客が共同で組み上げるアクティビティへとつながります。メゾソプラノ・松岡なつ美さんのドラマティックな表現、星野響さんによるピアノと箏の同時演奏という世界初の挑戦、画家・尾形凌さんによる水墨画の即興ライブペインティング、さらに落語家・桂枝之進さんが尾形さんの背景画とともに演じる「天狗裁き」──多様な表現が一畳の上に次々と立ち上がりました。最後は有馬さん自身が「春興鏡獅子」の難関部分を抜粋して披露し、畳一畳に宿る圧倒的な集中とエネルギーが会場を包み込みました。

印象的だったのは、舞台裏にあった“専門を超えた助け合い”です。分野を超えたアーティストの共演の裏側では、他のメンバーが次のステージの準備をしたり、照明や設営を支えたり。それぞれの専門への敬意と、互いの挑戦を心から応援し合う空気が、ONE STAGEという場の魅力をより強いものにしていました。まさに「純度の高いイベントだった」という出演者の言葉通り、偶然と必然が重なる瞬間が会場の至る所で生まれていました。

Creative Guildは、ONE STAGEを“一度きりの協賛”ではなく、ここから始まる共創として捉えています。アーティストのライフストーリーを紹介するギルド名鑑の発信、来場者同士がつながり続けるためのAIを活用した仕組みづくり、公演後も対話が続く余白の場のデザインなど、ONE STAGEとともに“楽しい”から始まる未来づくりを広げていきます。

たった一畳だからこそ、できることがある。

A New Future Born from a One-Tatami Stage

On November 24, 2025, the very first “ONE STAGE CONCERT” took place at the iconic Kōshōden Hall inside Zōjōji Temple. Led by a group of exceptional Gen-Z artists, ONE STAGE is a new performing-arts project built around a bold question: How far can we expand the world from just one tatami-sized stage? Creative Guild joined this inaugural concert as a partner organization, witnessing the challenge—and the magic—together with everyone in the hall. Both performances were completely sold out. Inside the historic temple, music, visual art, traditional performing arts, architecture, and spatial design intertwined, revealing the vast potential hidden within a single tatami.

For the project’s founder, Japanese dancer Wakako Arima, ONE STAGE has been a dream in the making for ten years—since her high-school days. “When I didn’t know how it would turn out, part of me thought it might be wiser not to do it at all,” she recalls. Yet the idea kept resurfacing, again and again, each time giving her the push to move forward. That long journey eventually led her to the right collaborators—artists she genuinely wanted to create with. Every one of them said “yes” without hesitation, making this first performance possible.

The concert itself was a sequence of “one-tatami breakthroughs.” The evening opened with Kanjiro Bandō’s powerful performance of Sanbasō, followed by architect Ryosuke Hara’s interactive installation where the audience helped assemble a glowing truss sculpture. Mezzo-soprano Natsumi Matsuoka delivered a dramatic piece atop a tower-like stage; pianist Hibiki Hoshino took on the extraordinary challenge of playing the piano and koto simultaneously; and painter Ryō Ogata performed a live ink-painting session that unfolded moment by moment. The show continued with rakugo storyteller Edanoshin Katsura, who performed Tengusadaki against Ogata’s evolving backdrop. The finale featured Arima herself, presenting a demanding excerpt from Shunkyō Kagamijishi, filling the one-tatami stage with overwhelming focus and energy.

What happened behind the scenes was just as striking: a spirit of collaboration that transcended specialties. As artists crossed disciplines on stage, others backstage prepared the next setup, supported lighting and props, or helped with transitions. Respect for one another’s craft—and a genuine desire to uplift each other’s challenges—created a uniquely warm, interconnected atmosphere. As one performer said, it was truly “a pure event,” where coincidences and intention blended in the best possible way.

For Creative Guild, ONE STAGE is not a one-time partnership but the beginning of an ongoing collaboration. We will continue sharing the artists’ life stories through our Guild Directory, building AI-powered tools to keep audiences connected after the event, and creating post-concert spaces for continued dialogue and exploration. Together with ONE STAGE, we hope to expand a future that begins with “fun” and grows through collaboration.

There is something special that only a one-tatami stage can create.
