違いをなくすのではなく、違いの「あいだ」に橋を架ける

年齢、文化、言葉、地域、立場、価値観、そして歩んできた人生。私たちは、それぞれに異なる背景を持っています。
似た考えや経験を持つ人とは、比較的簡単につながることができます。一方で、自分とは違う誰かと向き合おうとしたとき、ちょっとした言葉の違いや思い込みから、いつの間にか距離や壁が生まれてしまうこともあります。
だからこそ、必要になるのが、信頼と“善き対話”です。

“善き対話”とは、自分の正しさを証明することでも、相手を自分の考えに変えることでも、急いで一つの結論にまとめることでもありません。
相手の声に耳を傾け、その背景にある経験や想いを知ること。
自分とは異なる視点に触れ、その違いを新しい発見として楽しむこと。
そして、互いを尊重しながら、これからの関係を一緒につくっていくことです。

今回のヨリミチ部では、世代・文化・言語・地域を越えてコミュニティを育てている三人の実践者をお迎えします。
江戸 舞さんは、50歳からのコミュニティ「おしるこ」を通じて、人生100年時代の新しいつながりと、その人らしい人生の楽しみ方を支えています。
チー・キットさんは、文化や言語、立場を越えて、一人ひとりが自分自身の人生の意味や目的を見つけていくための、灯台のようなコミュニティを育てています。
原口たずさんは、港区・芝地区を舞台に、ご近所イノベーターとして、地域に根差した人と人とのつながりを育んでいます。

人生の後半戦、文化と言語を越えた世界、そして日々の暮らしが営まれるご近所。活動する場所やコミュニティの形は違っても、三人に共通しているのは、一人ひとりを大切にし、対話を重ね、信頼を地道に育てていることです。

コミュニティ同士を一つにまとめるのではなく、それぞれの文化や個性を守ったまま、その「あいだ」に橋を架ける。そのためには、何が必要なのでしょうか。
違いが「壁」に変わるのは、どのようなときなのでしょうか。
一度の出会いを、信頼のある関係へ育てるには何が必要なのでしょうか。
そして、誰も置き去りにすることなく、それぞれの可能性をひらく“善き対話”は、どうすれば生み出せるのでしょうか。
三人の実践から学びながら、参加する皆さまとも対話し、これからのコミュニティのあり方を楽しみながら探究していきます。

冒頭では、港区立産業振興センターやCreative Guildの最新の取り組みをご紹介します。
地域やコミュニティで活動している方からの、ちょっとしたお知らせやオープン・ピッチも予定しています。思いがけない話題や、新しい企画が飛び出すかもしれません。
ゲストセッションの後には、登壇者や参加者同士で自由に交流できるネットワーキング・タイムもご用意しています。

ヨリミチ部とは？

ヨリミチ部は、いつもとはちょっと違う人たちと、ちょっと違う会話を楽しむ井戸端会議です。
港区立産業振興センターのコミュニティ形成プログラムとして毎月開催し、ゲストのお話を一方向に聞くだけではなく、参加者同士もつながり、新しい発見やチャレンジが生まれる場をお届けしています。
リアル会場では、ドリンクやスナックを囲みながら気軽に交流。オンラインでも配信するため、会場に来られない方は、ラジオ感覚で耳だけ参加することもできます。
初めての方も、お一人で参加される方も大歓迎です。年齢、肩書き、立場、国籍、言葉は関係ありません。途中からの参加や途中退出も、もちろんOKです。
外国人参加者も多く、日本の方が英語で、海外の方が日本語で話してみるなど、いつもとは少し違うチャレンジも楽しめます。
また、ヨリミチ部で生まれたつながりや活動は、Creative Guildが継続的にサポートしています。イベントでの出会いが、新しいコミュニティやプロジェクト、仕事、そして人生の次の一歩へつながる可能性も広がっています。

登壇者プロフィール

カイト株式会社／「おしるこ」　江戸 舞さん

東京藝術大学卒業後、印刷会社などを経てカイト株式会社へ。現在は、50歳からのオンラインコミュニティ「おしるこ」の価値拡大に取り組んでいます。年齢や肩書きといった社会的なラベルだけで人を見るのではなく、一人ひとりの「その人らしさ」を大切にしながら、何歳になっても安心して社会とつながり、新しい楽しみや挑戦に出会えるコミュニティづくりを進めています。

Victory Family Centre Japan　チー・キットさん

シンガポールで政府系の仕事に携わった後、自身の人生の意味や役割を見つめ直す中で牧師の道へ。現在はVictory Family Centre Japanの牧師として日曜礼拝を中心に活動しながら、各地で英会話の場なども開催しています。文化・立場・言語を越えて人と人が自然につながり、それぞれが自分自身の人生の意味や目的を見つけ、新しい一歩を踏み出せるコミュニティづくりに取り組んでいます。

芝の水やり地域活動家　原口たずさん

港区・芝地区を中心に、ご近所イノベーターとして地域に根差した活動を展開。日々の暮らしの中にある顔の見える関係や、何気ない会話を大切にしながら、人と人、活動と活動、地域と新しい可能性をつなぐ取り組みを進めています。今回のヨリミチ部では、芝地区での実践を通じて見えてきた、ご近所から信頼を育てる方法や、多様な人やコミュニティをつなぐためのヒントを共有いただきます。

About the Theme

Building Bridges Between Differences—Rather Than Erasing Them

Age, culture, language, region, social position, values, and the lives we have lived. Each of us comes from a different background.
It is often relatively easy to connect with people who share similar ideas or experiences. Yet when we engage with someone who is different from us, small differences in language or unexamined assumptions can gradually create distance and walls between us.
That is why trust and “meaningful dialogue” matter.

Meaningful dialogue is not about proving that we are right, changing another person’s mind, or rushing everyone toward a single conclusion.
It means listening carefully to another person’s voice and understanding the experiences and hopes behind it.
It means encountering perspectives different from our own and enjoying those differences as opportunities for discovery.
And it means respecting one another while creating the next stage of the relationship together.

For this YORIMICHI Club session, we welcome three practitioners who are nurturing communities across generations, cultures, languages, and regions.
Mai Edo supports new forms of connection and authentic ways of enjoying life in the age of 100-year lifespans through Oshiruco, a community for people aged 50 and over.
Chee Kit nurtures a lighthouse-like community that helps people connect across cultures, languages, and social positions while discovering meaning and purpose in their own lives.
Tazu Haraguchi works as a neighborhood innovator in Shiba, Minato City, building locally rooted relationships among people and communities.

The second half of life. A world that crosses cultures and languages. And the neighborhood where everyday life unfolds.

Although their fields and communities differ, all three guests share a commitment to valuing each individual, continuing dialogue, and patiently cultivating trust.
Rather than merging different communities into one, how can we preserve their distinct cultures and identities while building bridges between them?
When do differences become walls?
What does it take to turn a single encounter into a relationship grounded in trust?
And how can we create meaningful dialogue that opens up each person’s potential without leaving anyone behind?
By learning from the experiences of our three guests and engaging in dialogue with everyone joining us, we will explore the future of community together—and enjoy the process along the way.

Because we are different, there is more to discover.
Because we are different, there is more we can create together.

On a summer evening, come and enjoy slightly different conversations with slightly different people. Take a small detour and join us at YORIMICHI Club.

• Where does trust across differences in generation, culture, and region begin?
• What does it take to turn the boundaries between communities from walls into bridges?
• What does meaningful dialogue look like when we are not trying to change the other person?
• How can a single encounter grow into a lasting relationship or a new challenge?
• How can communities connect while preserving their distinctive identities and cultures?

At the beginning of the event, we will share the latest initiatives and updates from the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center and Creative Guild.
We will also have an open-pitch segment featuring brief announcements from people involved in local and community-based activities. Unexpected topics and new project ideas may emerge.
After the guest session, participants will have time to speak freely with the guests and one another during the networking session.

What Is YORIMICHI Club?

YORIMICHI Club is an informal, neighborhood-style gathering where people can enjoy slightly different conversations with slightly different people.
Held every month as part of the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center’s community-building program, it is not simply a place to listen to guest speakers. It is a space where participants connect with one another and where new discoveries, ideas, and challenges can emerge.
At the in-person venue, participants can talk casually over complimentary drinks and snacks. The event is also streamed online, allowing those who cannot attend in person to listen in like a radio program.
First-time participants and those attending alone are always welcome. Age, title, position, nationality, and language do not matter. Participants are also free to join late or leave early.
We regularly welcome international participants. Japanese speakers can try communicating in English, while international participants can try speaking Japanese—making the event an opportunity to enjoy a small and friendly new challenge.
Creative Guild also continues to support the connections and initiatives that emerge through YORIMICHI Club. An encounter at the event may lead to a new community, project, professional opportunity, or next step in life.

Guest Profiles

Mai Edo — CAYTO, Inc. / Oshiruco

After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts, Mai Edo worked at a printing company and in other roles before joining CAYTO, Inc. She is currently focused on expanding the value of Oshiruco, an online community for people aged 50 and over. Rather than viewing people only through social labels such as age or job title, she values each person’s individuality. She works to build communities where people can remain confidently connected to society and encounter new joys and challenges at any age.

Chee Kit — Victory Family Centre Japan

After working in a government-related role in Singapore, Chee Kit began reflecting deeply on the meaning and purpose of his own life and eventually became a pastor. He now serves at Victory Family Centre Japan, primarily through Sunday services, while also organizing English conversation gatherings in different communities. He works to create communities where people can connect naturally across cultures, social positions, and languages, discover meaning and purpose in their own lives, and take new steps forward.

Tazu Haraguchi — Shiba Neighborhood Community Activist

Based mainly in Shiba, Minato City, Tazu Haraguchi is active as a neighborhood innovator rooted in the local community. By valuing face-to-face relationships and everyday conversations, Tazu works to connect people with people, activities with activities, and the neighborhood with new possibilities. During this session, Tazu will share practical insights from work in Shiba, including how trust can grow from within a neighborhood and how diverse people and communities can be connected.
