日本舞踊家・有馬 和歌子さんが紡ぐ“みんなのフロー”

港区を起点にいろんなところで働く・暮らす、楽しい時間を創りたい人たちによるコミュニティCreative Guild。このギルド名鑑ではそんなCreative Guildでつながったユニークな方々をご紹介しています。今回ご紹介するのは、伝統を大事にしながらも前向きに新しい可能性の扉を開き続けている有馬 和歌子さん（日本舞踊坂東流 師範　坂東 寛十胤）です。誰もが自分の人生というステージで、楽しく踊れるように、“フロー”を田町から世界に紡いでいっています。

有馬さんは、東京は田町生まれの田町育ち。つまり港区立産業振興センター＝Creative Guildの拠点が超地元。2歳で初舞台を踏み、日本舞踊の世界で活躍しています。大学在学中には子供舞踊塾を父・坂東 寛二郎より引継ぎ、これまでに600人以上の子どもたちに指導してきています。一方で若手アーティストプロジェクトを主宰。YouTubeチャンネル「ONE STAGE」も展開し、ジャンルを超えて日本を拠点に活動する若手アーティストの活躍の機会を広げることに貢献しています。

そんな有馬さんの基本スタンスは、みんなを“フロー”にしていくこと。この“フロー”とは、集中力が高まり、端的に言えば「最高に楽しい」と感じられる状態です。アーティストに限らず、誰にとっても自分の人生の可能性に挑戦するために欠かせない要素。でもそれは特別な才能ではなく、自分らしく無理せず、まさに踊るように流れに身を任せることで生まれるもの。有馬さんは、多方面の活動を通じて、この“ひとりひとりのフロー”を創り、紡いでいくことを、自分らしい“日本舞踊ライフ”として楽しんでいます。

現代社会、とくに日本では自己肯定感の低さが問題になっています。その背景には、行き過ぎた金銭的価値基準への偏りと成果主義があるのかもしれません。こうした価値観は、短期的・利己的な視点を強化し、お金を“手段”から“目的”へと変えてしまいます。結果として“楽しい”が置き去りにされ、“元気”を失わせてしまっているのではないでしょうか。

でも、どんな人でも心の奥底では「自分の人生を楽しみたい」「そのステージで思いっきり踊りたい」と思っているはず。特別な準備はいりません。流れに身を任せて一歩踏み出せばいいのです。有馬さんが創ってくれている場のように。「“楽しい”から始まる未来づくり」をコンセプトとするCreative Guildとしては、これ以上にないロールモデル。これはもう、みんなで有馬さんの紡いでくれる“フロー”に乗っていくしかないですね！

Wakako Arima and the Flow of Living Nihon Buyo

Creative Guild is a community based in Minato City, Tokyo, bringing together people who want to create joyful, meaningful moments where they live and work. In this Guild Directory, we introduce some of the uniquely inspiring individuals who are part of that network. Today, we’re proud to feature Wakako Arima (Master of Nihon Buyo: classical Japanese dance in the Bando School tradition, recognized as a successor of Bando Kanju), who continues to open doors to new possibilities while honoring tradition. Through her work, she is weaving a vibrant “flow” that invites everyone—regardless of background or experience—to dance freely on the stage of their own life.

Wakako was born and raised in Tamachi, Tokyo—right where Creative Guild’s home base, the Minato City Industrial Promotion Center, is located. She made her stage debut at the age of two and has been immersed in the world of Nihon Buyo ever since. During her university years, she took over the Children’s Dance School from her father, Kanjiro Bando, where she has now taught over 600 young students. At the same time, she leads a creative project for emerging artists, and runs a YouTube channel called ONE STAGE, helping young talents working across genres find greater visibility and opportunity—all from a Japan-based platform.

Her guiding philosophy is simple yet powerful: to help everyone enter a state of “flow.” In this context, flow means being fully engaged, energized, and joyful—what some would call being “in the zone.” This state isn’t exclusive to artists; it’s something we all need to explore our potential. And contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t require special talent. Flow comes from letting go, being yourself, and allowing life to move you—just like dancing. Through her diverse work, Wakako is creating and nurturing moments of “individual flow,” embracing it as her own way of living Nihon Buyo.

In modern society—especially in Japan—low self-esteem has become a widespread issue. This may be rooted in an overemphasis on monetary value and a narrow focus on results. When money becomes the goal rather than a means, joy tends to be lost, and along with it, our inner vitality.

But deep down, we all want to enjoy life. We all want to dance freely on our own stage. No special preparation is needed—just take a step, trust the current, and let yourself move. That’s exactly what Wakako offers through the spaces she creates. For Creative Guild, which is built around the concept of “designing the future through fun,” she is the perfect role model.
