平和サッカーを体現する、FCフェニックス キャプテン 古川隆輝さん

港区を起点にいろんなところで働く・暮らす、楽しい時間を創りたい人たちによるコミュニティCreative Guild。このギルド名鑑ではそんなCreative Guildでつながったユニークな方々をご紹介しています。今回ご紹介するのは、パートナーであるFCフェニックスでキャプテンを務める古川隆輝さん。勝ち負けだけではない“平和サッカー”を自ら体現しながら、チームと人の成長を支え、関わる人に一歩踏み出すきっかけを届けています。

京都出身の古川さんは、高校・大学とサッカー競技を続けてきました。大学卒業時には一度サッカーから離れることも考えていたものの、縁あってFCフェニックスに参加。次第にチームの“平和サッカー”の理念に共感し、現在はキャプテンとしてチームを牽引しています。その一方でクラブ運営にも関わり、サッカースクールやジュニアユースの指導にも従事。さらにクラブの関連事業として展開する吉祥寺のサンドイッチ店の店長としても携わるなど、サッカーと仕事の両面から関わりながら、チームと次世代の成長を支えています。

古川さんは、「一歩踏み出すこと」を大切にしています。それは前向きに変化を受け止め、挑戦し、成長していく在り方。けれど、それを押し付けることはしません。だからこそ、まずは自分から行動する。そして静かに周りに影響を与え、その輪を自然に広げていく。そうして生まれる共鳴は、勝ち負けを超えて互いを理解し、尊重し合う関係性へと広がり、平和サッカーを体現することにつながっています。

一方で、現代社会に目を向けると、最初の一歩を踏み出せない状態は少なくありません。本来であれば行動することでつながりが広がり、可能性も開けていくはずなのに、「できない」と諦めてしまったり、「やりたいこと」の優先順位を無意識に下げてしまったりする。結果として、コミットしきれず、後手に回ってしまう。私たちは、知らず知らずのうちに先入観に縛られ、自ら可能性を狭めてしまっているのかもしれません。

本来、私たちはいくつになっても成長できる存在です。そして、どんな場所からでも成果を生み出す可能性を持っています。だからこそ大切なのは、最初の一歩を踏み出すこと。子どもたちはその一歩で未来を広げ、大人もまた踏み出し続けることで人生はより豊かなものになっていくはずです。古川さんは“平和サッカー”を通じて、その事実を伝え続けています。同時に、その在り方を通して私たちに「次にどんな一歩を踏み出すのか」を問いかけ、そっと「大丈夫」と背中を押し続けてくれているのです。

Ryuki Furukawa, Captain of FC Phoenix, Bringing “Peace Soccer” to Life

Creative Guild is a community based in Minato City, bringing together people who want to create enjoyable ways of working and living across different places. In this Guild Directory, we introduce unique individuals connected through Creative Guild. This time, we feature Ryuki Furukawa, captain of FC Phoenix, one of our partner teams. By embodying “Peace Soccer” — a philosophy that goes beyond winning and losing — he supports both the growth of the team and the people around him, creating moments that inspire others to take their first step forward.

Originally from Kyoto, Furukawa continued his soccer career through high school and university. Although he once considered stepping away from the sport after graduation, he joined FC Phoenix through a personal connection. Over time, he deeply resonated with the team’s philosophy of “Peace Soccer” and now leads the team as captain.　Beyond playing, he is also involved in club management, coaching at soccer schools and youth teams, and even working as the manager of a sandwich shop in Kichijoji run as part of the club’s business. Through both soccer and work, he contributes to the growth of the team while nurturing the next generation.

At the core of Furukawa’s philosophy is “taking the first step.” It means embracing change, challenging oneself, and continuing to grow. However, he never forces this mindset onto others. Instead, he begins with his own actions, quietly influencing those around him and allowing that influence to spread naturally. This ripple effect creates resonance — one that goes beyond winning and losing — fostering relationships built on mutual understanding and respect. In doing so, it becomes a true embodiment of “Peace Soccer.”

At the same time, when we look at modern society, many people find themselves unable to take that first step. Even though action can open new connections and possibilities, people often give up before trying or unconsciously lower the priority of what they truly want to do. As a result, they struggle to fully commit and end up reacting too late.

Perhaps, without realizing it, we are limiting our own potential, held back by assumptions and invisible constraints.

In truth, we all have the ability to grow, no matter our age. We all carry the potential to create results, wherever we are. That is why what truly matters is taking that very first step. For children, that step expands their future. For adults, continuing to take steps makes life richer and more fulfilling. Through “Peace Soccer,” Furukawa continues to demonstrate this truth. And through his way of being, he asks each of us: “What is the next step you will take?” — while gently reassuring us, “It’s okay,” and encouraging us forward.
